The Marietta Police Department is dedicated to protecting its citizens in every way possible. While our focus is on finding ways to fight and prevent crime we are also dedicated in finding ways to educate the public. Marietta Police Department is now offering a 12-hour Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class. R.A.D. is a simple yet effective self-defense course for women only. The techniques are designed to be quick and effective in delivering pain to vulnerable locations on the attacker’s body. The course is designed so that women of all fitness levels and ages will successfully learn options to escape attacks. R.A.D. is a twelve-hour course, delivered over 4-three hour classes. Participation in all four classes is necessary to complete the course.
Must be a senior in high school; no jewelry is allowed during class. Gym attire is recommended.
There is no charge for this course; donations are appreciated.
Please email Officer Amy Valente at avalente@mariettaga.gov with any questions you may have.
